Queen of Tears Episode 2 Recap and Explained: Netflix presents a Korean rom-com drama “Queen of Tears” in sixteen episodes which comes in two episodes every week. Hong Hae-In is an heir to the Queen’s empire and Baek Hyun-Woo is a normal worker in the Queen’s company who comes from a middle-class family in a village. Hong Hae-In and Baek Hyun-Woo fall in love at the workplace without Baek Hyun-Woo knowing Hong Hae-In’s real identity.
After the marriage love between them diminishes and Baek Hyun-Woo comes to the point of asking for a divorce. But a terminal illness Hong Hae-In changes everything between them as the doctor says Hong Hae-In will only live for 3 months.
Episode 2 opens with Hong Hae-In talking about the illness to Baek Hyun-Woo. Baek Hyun-Woo asks what exactly the doctor told her. Next, we see a flashback of Hong Hae-In going to see the doctor. When she reached the hospital she was getting illusions of some clouds and mists-like things. Suddenly she opens her eyes inside the doctor’s room.

Hong Hae-In explains to the doctor that sometimes she gets illusions and next she see her on another spot without remembering what happened on that time gap. The doctor explains to her that she has a disease named Cloud Cytoma, which is a rare disease and she is the first patient in Korea. The doctor says this disease is a bit complicated and doesn’t have exact medicines.
Hong Soo-Cheol went to his grandfather as he called to meet him in person. Hong Soo-Cheol thought it was for the issue related to the New York coffee brand. But grandfather scolds him for overpaying 8 billion won for corporate tax. Grandfather scolds him that he should have consulted Baek Hyun-Woo before doing anything ridiculous. Hong Soo-Cheol loses his balance and falls there after his grandfather’s scolding. Hong Soo-Cheol’s mother met him while he was on bed rest.
At the family dinner, Hong Soo-Cheol’s mother tells Hong Hae-In that she will sue Hong Hae-In for the land contract to revenge what happened to Hong Soo-Cheol and their grandfather. But Baek Hyun-Woo takes away Hong Hae-In from there.

Baek Hyun-Woo tells his co-worker and friend about Hong Hae-In’s illness. Hong Hae-In warned Baek Hyun-Woo not to tell anyone about this matter as if her family got to know it they would start fighting for her shares. Baek Hyun-Woo’s friend tells him to show love towards Hong Hae-In and make up her mind to give her shares to Baek Hyun-Woo within these three months. Hong Hae-In already wrote her will that she won’t give anything to Baek Hyun-Woo. Now if he shows love to her she can change her mind.
Baek Hyun-Woo starts to show love towards Hong Hae-In everywhere. Even at the board meeting. Hong Hae-In warns him of being dramatic. Baek Hyun-Woo’s sister gets mocked at her shop on the topic about Baek Hyun-Woo and Hong Hae-In’s relationship. Customers mocking that they are on the verge of divorce. Hong Hae-In goes to an event to meet Mr. Herman to talk about having the Hercyna brand at their mall.
Hong Hae-In gets mocked by her rival company heir Ye-Na. Mr. Herman’s right hand is Yoon Eun-Seong who was Hong Hae-In’s ex-boyfriend. Hong Hae-In and Yoon Eun-Seong meet again, Hong Hae-In says that Yoon Eun-Seong crossed the limit that’s why she dumped him. Yoon Eun-Seong have a chat with Baek Hyun-Woo, Yoon Eun-Seong tells him that he is Hong Hae-In’s ex-boyfriend. But Baek Hyun-Woo doesn’t care about it at all.
Hong Hae-In’s mother got to hear about Yoon Eun-Seong and she remembers him before as Hong Hae-In’s boyfriend. Hong Hae-In’s mother asks Hong Hae-In to invite Yoon Eun-Seong here. If he comes her son can make some deals with him. If Hong Hae-In can do it, her mother will not file the complaint she told before. At the end of the episode, everyone in the family gathers at a private forest place via helicopter. They are going for animal hunting which grandfather likes very much. All got the guns needed for hunting and instruction on what to shoot. Everyone go separate ways.

Yoon Eun-Seong is also with them in this forest for hunting. Hong Hae-In says her father is testing her competence with this hunting. As they were hunting someone put the bear inside the forest where Hong Hae-In is standing purposefully. The forest nets defending the animals were cut off by someone. While hunting a bear comes to Hong Hae-In. Hong Hae-In got stuck there facing it, she was getting delusional thoughts. Suddenly Baek Hyun-Woo arrived there and stood in front of her and shot the bear. The bear died instantly.
Overall episode 2 was very interesting to watch. They added a new character to this which might have a chance for better development in upcoming episodes. Also, they added a thriller element at the end of the episode.
