Bhoomi (2020) Tamil Movie Opts For Direct Release on Hotstar

Bhoomi (2020) Tamil Movie Opts For Direct Release on Hotstar: The Caravan for OTT releases continues as Jayam Ravi’s much-awaited film Bhoomi is eyeing for an OTT release. Since the month of May, several of the South Indian movies were in a dilemma regarding the release of their movies.

Infact the most asked and debated topic was whether the movie will be arriving on an OTT platform or will the makers wait for the movie theatres to open which has been shut by the government due to the Coronavirus pandemic. But now, it seems that the makers are not looking to delay the release any further as they continuously are getting offers from Streaming Platforms and when the theatres will open, there won’t be a full-fledged audience.

We have seen big stars arrive in the OTT, for example, Nani starrer V arrived on Amazon Prime, Vijay Sethupathi’s upcoming film Ka Pae Ranasingam is all set to release on ZeePlex and Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru has also cracked a great deal. With Anushka Shetty and R Madhavan starrer Nishabdham all set to arrive in October on Amazon Prime, big stars are going in the OTT market.

Now, a big development regarding the Tamil Industry comes with the news that Jayam Ravi’s next Bhoomi has cracked a deal with Disney+Hotstar for an OTT release. While Hotstar hasn’t really shown any excitement in the South Indian Cinema and all the content from there were grabbed by Amazon Prime, this comes as a pleasant surprise.

Disney+Hotstar is looking forward to investing more in the Southern part of India. Talking about the Television rights of that movie, then Vijay TV has bagged the rights to stream the movie on TV.

Coming back to Bhoomi, the film has been directed by Lakshman, and this will be the third collaboration between Jayam Ravi and him. The movie also stars Nidhhi Agerwal as the female lead.
