The show is about Samuel Spades who is a fictional character in Dashiell Hammett’s 1930 novel The Maltese Falcon. The story revolves around Sam coming to a village to deliver the daughter of his friend to her father. But as he gets there the situations change from what he expected and he starts to live there.
Gabrielle is a French woman played by Chiara Mastroianni. Chiara Mastroianni is a French actress and singer is well popular in her field. She is known for her acting in Ready to Wear (1994), Persepolis (2007) and Beloved (2011). She is married to Benjamin Biolay.
Gabrielle is shown at the scene when Samuel gets stuck in car in their midway, she passes by with her Rolls Royce car driving. She gives them lift not just for their place but their life. She became an important person that changed the story on Samuel
She is very rich, living with her housekeeper and looking after her properties and business. She has dog pet with her most times when she gets shown. She speaks both English and french. She learned English from her teacher, and she speaks English very fluently.
Her old husband Jacques was a French guy who worked as a collaborator for nazis. She got blackmailed because of her husband’s doing in her life. To get help from blackmails and threats she proposes to Samuel with her on their mutual understanding. As they live they start to love each other. She likes Teresa too and cares for her.
After 8 years she is no more, her properties and business are run by Samuel now. Her memories are filled in Samuel too. She was a very lovely wife to him. We can see some flashbacks of them seeing Phillipe the guy who blackmailed her for a long time. She was kind enough to allow guys to paint in her properties without hesitation.

In Samuels’s flashbacks, we can see how she treated him and gave her love to him, he still perishes those memories of her. Even if she is dead he memories keep Samuel going on his life. We can expect more of her scenes in other coming episodes as those are linked to Samuel and Phillipe.
