What Are The Odds Netflix – Yes! That’s the movie name ” What are the odds? It’s a new movie which is brought to us by one of the most underrated actors of our generation Abhay Deol. He is the producer of the show and he has collaborated with the makers of highly acclaimed Netflix drama ” Delhi crime ” and Film Karavan originals.
After starring in Netflix’s previous movie Chopsticks Abhay returns to Netflix to show his versatility as being one of the producers and also as an actor. Yes he will be starring in the movie as well. According to Abhay, his production house ‘ Abhay Deol Presents ‘ will aim on giving a platform to independent directors, actors, and creators to showcase their ability.
What Are The Odds, Plot?
Talking about the movie, it is directed by Megha Ramaswamy who has previously worked as a writer in the 2011 movie shaitan as well as acted in the movie Ship of Theseus. Her short film Newborn has garnered her several critical acclaims. The movie is a coming of age story which follows two teenagers who decide to bunk school on an exam day not worrying about it and instead of going on an expedition in Mumbai.
The two teenagers are one girl – Vivek ( yeah that’s the name ) played by Yashaswini Dayama whom we have seen in previous works like Dear Zindagi, Made in Heaven, Delhi Crime and Phobia to mention some. The other teenager is Ashwin portrayed by Karanvir Malhotra ( The Forgotten Army ). One day Vivek commits a clunky crime which leads to her and Ashwin’s friendship who in the movie is a well behaved Head boy.

Well as happens always… Things take some turns and the story unravels some events from the past, present, and future in the lives of these two teens and there they meet or have an encounter with Val ( Abhay Deol ), Which leads to the story which will be remembered by both of them for rest of their life.

The makers released a short teaser of the film a few days ago on their YouTube channel FilmKaravan originals. You can check it out there. The teaser gives us a brief moment of all the cast members. The makers put a note ” Set in in whimsical version of Mumbai and peopled with characters and incidents personifying the title, ‘ What are the Odds? ‘ is an honest, often hilarious, and rapt exploration of growing up in contemporary India devoid of its cultural specificities and celebrating unusual friendships.
Abhay Deol shared the teaser in his Instagram handle and wrote:- “40 yr olds date teenagers all the time”. – Vivek (yes that’s HER name, odd isn’t it?) is too smart for her own good. Well the movie has been doing festival rounds for quite some time and the makers now decided to release it in India. As we know the movie will stream directly on Netflix. The release date of the movie has been selected as 20th May 2020.
