The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 1: The Mandalorian is an American space action adventure and western drama series that is the first live-action series in the Star Wars franchise.
The story is set after the five-year events of The Return of the Jedi, whereas this series was created by Jon Favreau and follows the journey of the Mando and his journey after he meets with the Grogu.
Whereas in this article, I am going to recap along with the ending explanation of season 3 episode 1, whereas the story begins exactly where season 2 ended, where we see that Mando is now with Grogu, but sadly, he removed his helmet to show his face to Grogu, where he is now more Mando, as we see in this season.
Recap & Summary
Episode 1 “The Apostate”, which is the seventeen chapter in the series, begins in the place of the Mandalorian, where one Mando gives a new mask of their type to a young boy who is now joining them as a Mandalorian, and the woman tells him to never remove the helmet in his life. Suddenly, we see that in the river, a large crocodile appears and attacks them, and they try to make the crocodile die.
After many attempts, they still can’t stop him, and we see that they try to save one another. The scene shifts, and we see that The Mandalorian, along with Grogu, comes to that place to stop him and make him die. Later, we see that Mando wanted to talk with the armorer in private, where he told them that Mando possessed a chuck of crystal and that he also wanted to tell them that he had removed his helmet.
The scene shifts to Nevarro, where Mando and Grogu are headed, which is his old place, where they find that everything has changed and that Greef Karga is now the new high magistrate of the Nevarro. There, he welcomes Mando and talks to him about staying and working together, but we already know that Mando is going to figure out the details about the crystal.

Ending Explained
We see that a bunch of pirates are near the school and would like to drink here, but Karga has refused them. After that, the pirates attacked Karga, but sadly they all died except one named Vane, who headed back to where Mando wanted the remaining part of IG-11, who had been bruised during the fire, where he tried to rebuild him but the memory was still not working and to fix it he needed the new memory circuit, and then, Mado and Grogu left that place to find the parts.
In the space, we see that Mando’s plane is being attacked by Vane and his group of pirates, who try to take revenge on him for killing the pirates. Mando is able to save the plane and jumps into hyperspace, where they reach Kalevala, which is another plant in the Mandalorian world. He then heads to meet Bo-Katan, who is now alone, and she gives him the intel about the mines, which are located beneath the city center of Sundari.
