The Last of Us Explained: How the Fungus Virus Outbreak?

The Last of Us Explained HBO Max: HBO has released the highly anticipated post-apocalyptic mystery thriller series The Last of Us, which is based on the popular video game of the same name created by Naughty Dog, whereas this series was created by Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin and follows the story of a smuggler and a girl named Ellie, as seen in the series.

In this article, I’ll tell you about the fungus outbreak in people’s lives and how it affects them, so you’ll have all the information you need.

This series episode 1 begins in 1968 when an expert on a talk show claims that fungus is more dangerous than viruses or bacteria. He explains that these fungi can take inside live organisms in the form of bugs and control them, which we usually call parasites, whereas there is no proof relating to this fungus.

Later in the season, we see that this fungus can also affect humans because the human body is warm, which allows these fungi to survive, whereas if the climate changes to be warmer, it may help these fungi produce more of the previous, which we see later in the season and must wait for more episodes to come.

The scene shifts to 2003, where we see that everything is normal, but suddenly the apocalyptic warning began everywhere, where we hear creepy sounds from other places, indicating that the fungus is not dominated the human body, as we see later, whereas the scene shifts to 2023, where we find that people have learned to leave the world for fungus-free places, where the outbreak and all matter began.

This is all about how the fungus started, and more details about this case will be revealed in a later episode. Let me know how much you enjoy this show in the comments section.
