Mohmaya Review Hoichoi: I have listened a lot about the regional contents and mostly about the Bengali series and this was the major reason i decided to watch the series and let you know my experience about the series. I Just finished the Hoichoi Original series Mohmaya a few days and here is the detailed review of the series.
I am going to talk about the performances, Major drawbacks, and highlights of the series, the web series stars Swastika Mukherjee and Bipul Patra in the main lead role along with Ananya Chatterjee. The series is created by Kamleshwar Chaterjee and all 5 episodes are now available on Hoichoi. Talking about parental guidance, the series is not suitable to watch with family and Kids.
Plot
The series revolved around Rishi played by Bipul Patra and Aruna played by Swastika Mukherjee, Rishi is a designer and he comes to live at Aruna’s house as a renter. Rishi has a very dark past and that is impacting his present very badly, his thoughts, his body languges evrything is changed due to that dark past that he had faced. When he arrives at Aruna’s house lots of mysterious things start happening. What are those things? and how Rishi is related to Aruna, to know this you have to watch the full series on Hoichoi and Mx Player.
Performances
The best part about the series is its star cast and most importantly Swastika’s performances, She is just amazing in her role, she has just nailed it and it is one of her finest performances to date. I have never Bipul Patra before this series and trust me he is amazing too and he clearly had a bright future ahead. I liked the way he changes his expression and body language in-between frames.
Ananya Chatterjee was equally brilliant in her role and she puts a huge impact on the series. I would like to mention another brilliant performance by the character named ‘Mitthi’, I don’t know her real name but she is amazing in her role. The rest of the characters were decent in their role.
Analysis
The biggest issue with the series is the plot itself, the screenplay is very poor and the series ends at nowhere, the suspense and confused Rishi looks interesting in beginning but it becomes dull and worst by the midlle, the series goes very dull in the middle and moves at the aimless direction, the editing of the series is also very poor and the series fails to impress the viewers. It’s Only Swastika’s Performance that makes it worth watching another wise there is nothing in the series to look for.
The locations are decent and the BGM is catchy, the colouring and VFX are good and these are only a few pluses after Swastika’s performances. I don’t know why makers focus on the second season even before the first season.

Overall
I am going with 1.5 out of 5 for the series and that is only for the performances, I am not sure how season 2 will perform but as season 1 is concerned, Moh Maya is a lousy thriller that is not worth your time, better to looks for some other alternative on other platfroms.
