Matilda the Musical Ending Explained: Netflix’s Matilda The Musical has been released recently on the streaming platform which is based on the stage play of the same name written by Dennis Kelly & Tim Minchin.
Starring the musical artist Alisha Weir along with Emma Thompson, the film is a fresh musical take on the beloved children’s novel telling the story of Matilda who has been neglected by her family since her birth and what happens when she gets enrolled in a school whose headmistress is torturous, children hating person and how both of them clash together resulting in Matilda’s self-realization is what the film is all about.
Does Agatha Trunchbull Stop Torturing The Kids?
When Matilda gets enrolled in the school titled “Crunchem Hall”, she didn’t know what the school discipline was and how the children were kept. On her first day, she gets a taste of that when the other students tell her about the school with a song. Matilda’s father makes it harder for her to succeed at school by informing the headmistress Agatha Trunchbull that Matilda is a problem creator so Trunchbull puts her attention on her.
After being informed by Miss Honey, Matilda’s teacher that she’s a genius, Trunchbull doesn’t pay any heed to her and keeps on continuing to torture the kids. One day, Matilda confronts her and the two of them clash.
Matilda uses her wits to save one of her classmates from Trunchbull which puts Matilda on her radar. Matilda realizes that the story that she is dictating about the acrobat and the escapologist is the story of Miss Honey, her teacher and the villain of the story in reality is the headmistress Miss Trunchbull.

She blows up the chokey with telekinesis which makes Trunchbull angrier and she makes a lot of chokeys for the children and gathers them for a spelling test. Matilda uses telekinesis to write on the blackboard posing as Magnus, Miss Honey’s dead father whom Trunchbull was suspicious of killing but shortly after all of the children band up together against Trunchbull and Matilda by using her telekinesis sends Trunchbull flying which scares her away from the school and Miss Honey taking the reins of the school.
What Happens To Matilda?
Matilda had been neglected by her parents right from her birth and the only place she found solace in what the library of Mrs. Phelps. However, when Miss Honey comes to ask her to join a school where she will learn things, she is so excited that she arrives an hour earlier.
Her brilliance is witnessed by Miss Honey who wants to shift her to an 11-year-old class but soon there’s a clash between Matilda and Trunchbull. In the end, Matilda’s father does some bad business with the mafia and they are going to run off to Spain and decides to pick her up from the school when they do come, Miss Honey offers to raise Matilda and adopt her.
