Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Review: Swatantra Veer Savarkar is a recently released Bollywood movie directed and produced by Randeep Hooda. The film revolves around Indian Freedom fighter and revolutionary Vinay Damodar Savarkar. The film was in the news for so long and let’s have a quick overview of the story and review of the film. The film is around 3 Hours long and it also stars Ankita Lokhande and Amit Sial in crucial roles.

The story of the film revolves around the life of VD Savarkar, The film focuses from the beginning till the death of Savarkar and it shows how he devoted his full life to Akhand Bharat. The film starts with their early childhood and then Jumps marrying Yamunabai and then going to Landon to study law. In Landon, Savarkar gets to know about Madan Dhingra and other revolutionaries with the same ideology. Savarkar then starts helping the Indian freedom fighters by supplying them with Guns and manuals to make bombs.

His life took a tragic turn when he was arrested by the British and then deported to India for conspiracies against the British government and Parliament.  Savarkar was given life imprisonment at Kaala Pani Cellular Jail. How did he survive there and how did he meet Gandhi? To know this You need to watch the full film on big screens.

Randeep Hooda is a phenomenal actor and there is no doubt about that, But the way he has performed in the film is just beyond everyone’s imagination. For a second, he looks like he is the real Savarkar. He was not playing the character but he was living in the character throughout the film. Randeep was very good with his expressions and he shows anger, pain and love all through his eyes.

The direction is again on the Top Notch and it never feels that this is the first film of Randeep Hooda. Ankita plays the brilliant character of Yamuna Bai and she was again shining like a pearl like her previous works. She was into the character and she was mindblowing with her dialogue delivery. Amit Sial as Ganesh Savarkar (playing Elder brother) was also good in his role and his bond with VD Savarkar looks natural.  Rajesh Khera as Gandhi was decent enough. The characters like Lokmanya Tilak, Subhash Chandra Bose Jawaharlal Nehru and Jinnah were decent enough to watch. The only misfire was the character of Ambedkar.

The screenplay of the film is fantastic although the film lags a little after the first half. The climax looks stunning and it will keep you glued to the screens till the end. The weak VFX and CGI are other drawbacks of the film. The music of the film is also average and the film needed a strong BGM. The location looks real and authentic and the set designer delivers a credit for that.
