After several accidents, the team reached a location where Maddox, the buyer of the nuke, had held Litvin captive. Maddox, a military man, owned a private military group aiming to ignite a US civil war. The team confronted the bad guys, resulting in a gunfire exchange, resulting in Maya being shot in the stomach.
After Maddox and Litvin escaped with the nuke, Langdon called off their mission, and the responsibility of saving the city fell to the FBI. Ava’s team split into two due to a misunderstanding, with Chad and Trunk investigating independently. However, they reconciled and decided to carry on the mission together. They killed Maddox and searched for Ivan Koslov.
After that we finds that Langdon confirms his okay and decides to let Ava and others back in to save the day. Paul offers himself as a sacrificial lamb if Hagerty isn’t found in time, flying the nuke out into the desert to avoid killing anyone. This adds another layer of risk to the team’s mission.
