  1. I have seen the show and it is good but they could change fhe cast ro better actors to whom I can more relate and the man on man stuff has got to go. Typical liberal hollywood at it’s finest.

  2. I loved the show! I am also very much looking forward to season 2, I hope!!!! I may also read the book series, the show has inspired me!

P.S. People need to stop judging others for there sexual orientation, I mean seriously it’s 2022. Get over yourselves!

  3. Actually I had read all Vampire Chronicles, and there’s not such thing as erotica or gayness. That’s in the new writers minds and some of you viewers.
Ann Rice’s vampires are passionate and the seduction to the mortals are a game for the killing.
AMC just needed more viewers, I like the series in general, despite the excess of sex and gay scenes (unnecesary), but AMC bought the rights of the novels, they will do what they want.

    • It’s also likely the way Anne Rice imagined it but didn’t feel comfortable writing about it in the 70’s. So instead, she had their genitals fall off so they could love each other without being homosexual.

I say this because Anne Rice, herself, had a great deal of input into season 1 as one of the show’s main producers to ensure her vision of the characters was realized on screen. And this is what she came up with. Unfortunately, she died before the season was finished and did not see it air 🙁

    • I have read all the books. Definitely quite a bit of erotica, homoerotica, and incest(Lestat and his mother Gabrielle de Lioncourt), not to mention that Armand was adolescent boy, age 17, when he was turned.

  4. Actually there is so much erotica in the books. Also there is true love between the male vampires. Not sure what book series you’re talking about cause it’s definitely not the Anne Rice series or you would know that. The books are not about gay or straight it’s about the passion for humans and each other. They didn’t see gender.

  6. merciful death on

as a lover of anne rice and writer that was inspired by her, pretty sure the chronicles had a lot of erotica in there… but nowadays i don’t see very many people reading as I do with them wanting to be relevant. I’m happy that i get to see Louis and Lestat on screen again, interesting take on how things are going but that’s the thing with new things. You must first give it a chance before you knock it completely. The actors are doing great and I’m looking forward to season 2, shame there’s only seven episodes though. I been craving more 🥺
