El Presidente Amazon Prime Video Original: The OTT Platforms are on a roll nowadays as they are releasing the trailers for new movies and series every coming day. Needless to say some stick with us and make us long for it. One such trailer was released by Prime video a few days back named El Presidente which is based on the corruption which happened at FIFA. The Spanish show is one of the latest outings for Amazon prime video.
The show takes place in the middle of the history of the scandal that came to light in 2015 and that today we know as the “FIFAgate”.

El Presidente’ will show us a portrait of the rise and fall of Sergio Jadue, the president of a small Chilean football team that emerged from the bottom up to become one of the leading players in a corruption network valued at $150 million.
Explores the real-life conspiracy underlying the beginning of the 2015 FIFA Gate corruption scandal. The series covers how this house of cards fell apart because of Sergio Jadue, an unknown B-league Chilean soccer club president. Jade becomes president of the Chilean National Soccer Association, brings Copa America to Chile for the first time and oversees Chile’s first-time victories in the 2015 Copa America and 2016 Copa America Centenario. Along the way, Jadue becomes an informant to FBI Agent Harris as part of the US government’s probe into global FIFA corruption.
Through Jadue’s exposure to the vast web of stakeholders that make up the global sport’s elite, including FIFA ‘godfather’ Julio Grondona and his deputy Luis Bedoya, they both participate in and ultimately reveal a conspiracy by which owners of distribution/marketing rights for high profile Latin American competitors used fraud, racketeering, and money laundering to conceal nearly $150MM in bribes that allegedly took from media distributors and sportswear companies.

The cast of the show includes Andrés Parra and Karla Souza in prominent roles, the series also stars Paulina Gaitan, Cristobal Tapia Montt , Alberto Ajak and Heinz K Krattiger .
Moreover, El Presidente is written and directed by Academy Award-winning director and screenwriter Armando Bo (Birdman) who is also an executive producer on the series, along with directors Natalia Beristain (Luis Miguel: La Serie), Gabriel Díaz (Bala Loca).
