Bhakshak Review: Netflix’s original film ‘Bhakshak’ was released today on Netflix. The film stars Bhumi Pednekar, Sanjay Mishra, and Aditya Srivastava in the main lead roles. The film is around 2 hours and 15 minutes long and is now streaming in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu audio versions. Here is a detailed review of the film.

The story of the film revolves around a Girl Shelter home in a fictional city named Munnawarpur, Bihar. A struggling reporter, Vaishali, gets a tip that something terrible is happening with the girls at Munnawapur Shelter home. Vaishali starts the investigation and when she digs it deeper, she gets to know that even the State ministers and government officials are also involved in it. How Vaishali will fight against all these odds and will she ever be able to save those girls from the shelter home? To know this, you need to watch the full movie on Netflix.

Just a gentle reminder to everyone, that the film is based on the real-life incident that took place in 2018. The story is based on the real-life Muzaffarpur Balika Grih Scandal which took place in 2018.

Hats off to the writer and creators of the film. The story is bone-chilling and it will keep you hooked till the end. The story shocks you and shakes you to the core. The writing of the film is just terrific and the same goes for the director and screenplay. The film has everything in its right place and it never gets disconnected from you once you start watching it. There are some shocking and disturbing visuals which can make you numb.

Coming to the performances. This is the Bhumi who is liked the most. I don’t know why she does films like ‘Thank You For Coming‘. She is such a stunning and talented actress and she did a great job in this film too. She was too good and real in the character of Vaishali. Sanjay Mishra is from Bihar itself and thus he was phenomenal in the film. He looks brilliant too and his performance gives a major boost to the film.

Aditya Srivastava, Chitranjan Tripathi, and Durgesh Kumar were also brilliant in their respective roles. Durgesh Kumar (Banrakas From Panchayat) makes you laugh yet again with his comic timing in his short yet very impactful role. The other actors were good too.

I am going with 4 out of 5 stars for the film. The film is one of the best films by Netflix in recent times and this is going to be one of the best films of 2024 for sure. Bhumi Nails it in the film and she deserves lots of appreciation along with the writer, director, and creators of the film.

The film is around 2 hours and 14 minutes long and streaming in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu audio along with subtitles. The film is not suitable to watch with family and kids, as there is use of some abusive language in the film. Although there is no nudity in the film.
