One of the most awaited films of the year “Avatar 2: The Way Of Water” has made its way to the theatres and while it has been a long wait of more than 10 years and made with an estimated budget of around $400 M, the effort took behind making this film has been huge and the film does live up to the hype.
However, with a film of over 190 minutes, the film adds a lot of new characters and if you had difficulty remembering the names of those characters, we’re here for you and moreover, you’ll be surprised at who is playing those characters.
Jake Sully
Jake Sully: Played by Sam Worthington, he is “Toruk Makto” (Chief) of the Omaticaya Clan and the protagonist of the whole Avatar Franchise. He is a former human who becomes part of the Avatar program and falls in love with the Na’vi people and eventually takes their side and leaves his human body permanently to become one of the Na’vi.
Neyitiri
Neyitiri: Played by Zoe Saldana, she’s the daughter of the Omaticaya Clan leader who Jake falls in love with and they have a family in Avatar 2: The Way Of Water.
Kiri
Kiri & Dr. Grace Augustine: Played by Sigourney Weaver who played the brilliant scientist Dr. Grace Augustine in Avatar (2009) dies and is also playing Kiri who is Grace’s daughter. Kiri has been adopted by Jake and Neyitiri who is also a teenage girl.
Quaritch
Colonel Miles: Played by Stephen Lang, he was a human who led the security forces at the RDA in the first Avatar film and dies in the end in the fight against Jake and Neyitiri but in the sequel his memories have been transferred into a Na’vi body and he’s sent back to Pandora to complete his mission.
Neteyam
Neteyam: Played by Jamie Flatters who is the oldest son of Jake and Neyitiri.
Loak
Lo’ak: Played by Britain Dalton who is the second son of Jake and Neyitiri.
Tuk
Tuk/Tuktirey: Played by Trinity Jo-Li Bliss who is Jake and Neytiri’s daughter and their youngest child.
Spider
Miles “Spider” Socorro: Played by Jack Champion who is a teenager who was born on the human base in Avatar (2009) but when the army was forced back to Earth, he wasn’t sent there since babies aren’t allowed on cryogenic chambers so he stayed behind and grew up with Jake and Neytiri’s children as friends.
Tonowari
Tonowari: Played by Cliff Curtis who is the chief leader of the Metkayina Clan where Jake along with his family goes to ask refuge and then learns the ways of water.
Ronal: Played by Kate Winslet who Tonowari’s wife who is a free diver of the Metkayina Clan.
Tsireya
Tsireya/Reya: Played by Bailey Bass who is the daughter of the Metkayina clan’s leader Tonowari and Ronal’s daughter and is also a free diver. She’s also a romantic interest of Lo’ak.
Aonung
Aonung: Played by Filip Geljo who is also a free diver and the son of Tonowari and Rolan.
Dr. Norm Spellman
Dr. Norm Spellman: Played by Joel David Moore who is also a scientist who chose to support Jake’s mission and sided with the Na’vi people in the first film.
Dr. Max Patel
Dr. Max Patel: Played by Dileep Rao who is also a scientist working with Jake in the first film but also sides with Jake in the first film.
