Amy Lau is a married entrepreneur, who owns ‘Kōyōhaus’, a successful start-up. Amy is married to ‘George Nakai and has a daughter named ‘June Nakai’. Amy Lau’s seemingly spotless and impeccable lifestyle is an inspiration for the employees at Kōyōhaus but the truth lies deep down in herself.
Throughout the series, we see Amy’s darkest impulses take control over her, driving her to crazy, diabolical actions that include seducing younger brothers, baiting her business partner’s artifact collection, and driving vehicles down the ditch. Amy had a traumatic childhood where her parents always kept bickering, she got sexually involved with an older man and started manifesting a storybook character.
The later episodes of the show present a more humane side of Amy’s persona, where we see an adult crybaby trying to fill up the emptiness inside her.
