Netflix’s Queer Eye Season 5 Plot

Queer Eye is an American Netflix original series, initially released on February 7, 2018. It is a reboot of the Bravo series of the same name, featuring a new Fab Five: Antoni Porowski, food and wine expert; Tan France, fashion expert; Karamo Brown, culture expert; Bobby Berk, design expert; and Jonathan Van Ness, grooming expert.

More than a decade after the original series went off the air, Netflix has rebooted the “Queer Eye” franchise with a new Fab Five and a new setting, trading in the concrete jungle of New York City for communities in and around Atlanta. The style experts forge relationships with men and women who often have different beliefs from them, leading to moments of social commentary interspersed with style advice.

Advising people in need of lifestyle makeovers are food and wine specialist Antoni Porowski, interior designer Bobby Berk, grooming consultant Jonathan Van Ness, fashion designer Tan France and culture expert Karamo Brown, who reality TV fans may recognize as one of the housemates on “The Real World (1992): Philadelphia”, David Collins, who created the original Queer Eye (2003) show, is on board as an executive producer. Previous seasons of the show lead the Fab Five to Georgia and Kansas City, plus a stopover in Jonathan Van Ness’s hometown of Quincy, Illinois.

Season 5 of the feel-good makeover show will hit Netflix on June 5, 2020, The series would be available in English audio along with the subtitles, users of the UK, USA, and other parts of the world can watch the series. The show is also coming with 10 episodes this season comparing to the original 8 in the previous season.

The news was confirmed in an Instagram post shared on the show’s official account. The picture features the Fab Five onboard the ‘Mayflower’ in the Delaware River, next to the caption:

“Grab your oars, a life vest, and an extremely absorbent box of tissues because Queer Eye Season 5 is arriving in Philly, June 5th!”.

For season five, the makeover experts will hit the east coast, as they head to Philadelphia. Netflix has previously teased what the new series will entail, saying the gang will be heading to

“the birthplace of the [United States], to bring their infectious brand of self-love, confidence and encouragement to a whole new roster of heroes.”
