Invincible Season 2 Episode 2 Recap
Mark slightly misses his graduation ceremony due to a supervillain but quickly returns to the ceremony. Working with Cecil, he follows orders to avoid suspicion. Atom Eve rebuilds an apartment in Chicago and receives praise. She gets a call from her mom, who informs her that her dad lost his job due to Omni Man destroying their office.
Eve suggests that her dad can seek help, turning an apple into gold for him to sell. Mark’s mom asks him to go on vacation in the summer, but he declines, citing Cecil’s need for him. Rex catches Immortal with Dupli Kate, causing tension due to Rex’s affair with her.
The Guardians of The Globe meet a new superhero, Shapesmith. In Season 1, Mark travels to Mars, where a Martian takes over an astronaut named Russ. The Alien learns about Martian Man and aspires to become a superhero on Earth.
Cecil informs Mark that he must marry the widow of Aquarus, the king of Atlantis and a former member of the Guardians of the Globe. Mark travels to Atlantis and discovers he must fight a monster due to changed rules. Despite a brutal beating by the monster, Mark eventually defeats it with Cecil’s assistance. Mark questions his morality, defying Cecil’s orders to help Atlantis and saving everyone.
In the post-credit scene, we see Angstrom in a different universe where Cecil and the government have captured Invincible and killed his father.
