How are Hybrids created? What was Genetic Series Unit 1? Season 2 of the Netflix original fantasy drama “Sweet Tooth” is now streaming on Netflix with 8 episodes. This show is based on the comic of the same name, created by Jeff Lemire. Before knowing the answer, let’s have an overview of the story. The fantasy drama Post-apocalyptic series tells about a Hybrid boy who is looking for his parents. During his journey, he meets lots of friends and also unveils lots of secrets.
Getting inspired by Dr. James Thacker, Birdie and her team went to Alaska for research. There, she found unique microbes that could charge up the immune system. D Miller had a reason to believe that if properly modified and engineered, these microbes could be made too powerful to fight any disease. So, the Fort Smith Lab conducted experiments on chickens, and these modified microbes were injected into them.
These chickens later became known as “Miller chickens.” The results of the animal studies were quite positive, and Dr. Gertrude Miller, with Gillian Washington, decided it was time to conduct human studies and see what effect the modified microbes had on the human immune system.
Soon, the Fort Smith team found problems conducting this experiment. Gillian knew that if they didn’t come up with something, their funding would be affected. During this hard time, Birdie found an ordinary egg with a beating heart inside. After observing that unfertilized egg, something incredible happened.
The first hybrid was accidentally created, and Dr. Miller named him Gus (Genetic Series Unit 1). Over time, Dr. Miller developed an emotional attachment to this hybrid kid, which made Gus unique compared to others. After that, she loved him as her own son.
