Govinda Naam Mera Review: Nonsensical, Irritating & Soggy

Govinda Naam Mera Review: Vicky Kaushal’s Comedy thriller drama film Govind Naam Mera starring Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pedenekar released today on Hotstar as the direct OTT release, The film was produced by Dharma Productions and directed by Shashank Khaitan. Here goes a detailed review of the film.

The film is around 140 Minutes long and it is available in Hindi audio along with subtitles on Hotstar, the film is only available in Hindi audio and not in any other dubbed version, The film is not suitable to watch with Small Kids.

The story of the film revolves around Govinda Waghmare, who is a struggling Choreographer, who is looking for money, he is the legal owner of a Big Bungalow in the city. He also has a step-brother who wants to get that Bungalow, by all means, In all between these Govinda finds himself trapped in a mess which changes his life forever, how he is going to save that Bungalow and how he will solve the mess, know this you need to watch the film movie on Hotstar.

The film is irritating for dull for the first hour, it looks like a nonsense film which makes no sense at all, That to the Poor scripting and below-average writing, the makers tried to bring the thrill back into the film after the first half, but it was too late, The film offers nothing till the end and ends with a regular and predictable climax.

Most of the conversations are irritating, The repetitive conversations between Govinda, His Mother, and Kaustubh Godbole make no sense at all, There is a sequence where Vicky is dancing in front of his wife’s boyfriend, Trust that sequence was one of the worst, and Forced comedy that I have ever seen. The climax again lacks Logic and it was very much predictable from the beginning itself, The locations were decent and the BGM and the music of the film are also pretty averages.

Vicky Kaushal tries his best to bring that comic element into the film, but he failed every time, he was decent in his role, but this is surely not one of his best performances to date, Bhumi looks numb and this one is her weakest performance till date and the same goes with the Kiara. The rest of the other actors were also below average.

I am going with 1.5 out of 5 stars for the film, the film is irritating, Nonsensical and a dull comedy-drama film that never looks funny or thrilling, Skip the film, and better to watch Freedy on Hotstar, instead of this.
