Dunki Day 13 Collection: The film gathered good support from the audience in the starting days, followed by a dip later on. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, this film is an Indian Comedy-drama genre produced under the banner of Jio Studios & Red Chillies Entertainment.
Recently, the film made its way to the theater on the 21st of December, followed by the release of Salaar on the 22nd of December. In the film Dunki, SRK, along with Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, and Shah Emtiaj, delivered great performances, adding further to the success of the film.
Rajkumar Hirani tries his best to deliver unique entertainment by showing a perfect blend of drama and comedy with phenomenal actors like SRK, who recently delivered two back-to-back blockbuster movies in 2023, followed by Dunki.
Dunki has also set a new benchmark in the Indian Film Industry by grabbing the biggest deal witnessed in selling digital rights for a whopping Rs. 155 Cr with the OTT platform Jio Cinema. Many OTT platforms bid to get this deal, but ultimately, Jio Cinema secured it and is expected to be streaming on the platform from the 3rd week of Feb 2024.
This further shows that the collaboration of SRK with Rajkumar Hirani has proved to be the right choice and has created a sensation globally. Even the previous largest deal for selling the digital rights also belongs to SRK’s film Jawan, which was made with Netflix.
Rajkumar Hirani showed the story of 4 friends who shared a common dream of going to England and ended up making it through illegal immigration techniques known as Donkey Flights, which has been termed as Dunki in Punjabi language.
By the end of 2023, the Indian Film Industry saw a big clash between the two superstars. Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki made its way to the big screen on the 21st of December, followed by the release of Prabhas’ film Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire. Dunki showed a good earning slope in the 1st week of release with an opening day collection of Rs. 29.3 Cr, but later followed by a decline in the 2nd week as the days passed.
The film has already passed the Rs. 300 Cr mark globally and seems to be adding up as a hat-trick blockbuster movie done by SRK in 2023.
