What If Season 2 Ending Explained: What If…? is a sci-fi superhero-based action animated anthology drama series that is created by A.C. Bradley and is based on the Marvel Comics series. This is the first animated series of Marvel and the show explores the alternate timelines in the multiverse where we see the story about the different timelines.
In this article, I am going to recap episode 9 of season 2 of this show which was written by Matthew Chauncey and directed by Bryan Andrews, where I will cover all the details and what happened in episode 8 of this show along with the plot and summary in detail.
In episode 9 of season 2 titled, “What If… Strange Supreme Intervened?”, begin exactly where epiode 8 ends where we see that Captain Carter saves the 1602 universe and is helped by Strange Supreme and in this episode we see that Strange seeks Peggy’s help in retrieving a universe-destroying escapee.
Where we find that Peggy is frustrated as her intention of Strange is nothing worth and she reveals that Strange is using The Forge to resurrect his universe by sacrificing the villains and heroes from various universes and Kahhori reveals that Strange is trying to restore his universe through the mass sacrifice of villains and heroes.
Later, we see that Strange chooses Peggy as his scapegoat to save Christine and understand his motivations, and Peggy as the noblest man in the world and he assures him that she will never go this far for Steve and that Steve wouldn’t want her to where Carter frees all captive heroes and villains from the walls of the Sanctum.
At the end of the finale episode, we see that Strange transports Peggy to a false memory of Project Rebirth and she is confronted with a redo where she realizes that the deception and blames Strange for the deception where we see that Peggy that Kahhori and everyone else were safely transported back to their universes and Strange Supreme was successful, and his universe was reborn with Christine and the episode ends.
