This Place Rules Review HBO Documentary: HBO has released its newest documentary about the US Capitol Riots that took place on the January 6th, 2021 just a week before its first anniversary showcasing the events that led up to what we saw unfold in Washington, DC on the aforementioned date.
It tells us the whole story from the perspective of Andrew Callaghan who is also the director of the documentary and also the presenter, Here goes the review of the documentary is one of the many documentaries which have been released now and will be made in the future.
To be in the time and record everything without taking any side either left or right, interviewing the big boys of the right-wing such as Alex Jones, and the Proud Boys, Andrew Callaghan has brought to us not a documentary that not only gives us the facts but a journey with the little ripples that come together to end up in a bigger splash which was the January 6th, 2021 in the form of the capitol riots.
Andrew has also taken a humorous turn in his documentary by shifting the focus when there was something hilarious or worth noting. Like when the documentary starts, it doesn’t feel like a documentary on the Capitol Riots but starts with a boxing match of a dissing contest between Joker Gang & GumGang.
This Place Rules is the re-telling of one of the events that after they happened or while they were happening, meaning when the capitol was raided, made us question what was the point of it, really. It features a whole lot of people that are big names in the world of conspiracy theories and are influencers, people who believed those conspiracy theories so much so that they would rather home-school their children and how the capitol riots or the events after including the arrest, made them realize what the reality is.
So, if you look at it, it’s not just one journey but a collective journey of a nation and its people but was it a journey to the good or worse is subjective and that is what the documentary leaves you with.
This Place Rules is a tremendous documentary that doesn’t ask you to pick one side but presents the side of the right-wing but not favoring them and has you decide as you see their mindset or psyche unfold. The Documentary is streaming on HBO MAX.
Final Verdict: 4/5
