The Great British Bake Off Season 13 Episode 4: The Great British Bake-Off is back with another Episode with a theme that is Bake-Off first i.e., Mexican Week. With Janusz winning Star Bakers and no eliminations last week because Rebs & Abdul were feeling a bit under the weather, this week saw 2 eliminations which were heartbreaking to see. Mexican Week was filled with curse words and people crying because the stress was up a notch.

Here are the challenges of this week’s Episode;

Signature Challenge

12 Individual Pan Dulce which is a collective term for a whole array of Mexican Sweet Treats.

Technical Challenge

8 Mexican Tacos which should be made from Yellow Field Corn & then hand-pressed. On top of each should be steak, spicy refried beans, guacamole & pico de gallo.

Showstopper Challenge

Their own take on the popular Tres Leche Cake which means 3 Milk Cakes that is traditionally used to soak the sponge once it’s baked. The cake should be also inspired by Mexico.

Bakers struggled with Mexican Week with their challengers leaving their bakes are a bit dry for some, and for others, the bake was too dense. The showstopper had all the bakers super stressed when it came to soaking the sponges in the 3 kinds of milk because no right amount was mentioned anywhere so they had to follow their instinct.

The bakes were unique and innovative. In the end, it was Maxy who got crowned Star Baker the second time, same as Janusz but it was Rebs & James who were eliminated because of their poor performances this week.

Next week, we have Dessert Week!

"I'm just a humble cinephile with a knack for stringing words together. My reviews may not be as fancy as "The Grand Budapest Hotel" but they'll give you a good idea of whether a movie is worth the ticket price. I may not be a "Casablanca" of criticism, but I'll always give you my honest opinion. So join me on this journey of cinematic discovery, it's sure to be "One for the Ages."
