Shamshera Movie Ending Explained: Shamshera has been released in the theatres after a long wait, by Ranbir Kapoor fans and by Bollywood fans who are waiting for a movie that will redeem the reputation of Bollywood. It’s here and while it’s not that bad it’s not too good, it’s more than watchable and definitely a treat for Ranbir Kapoor fans who have been dying to see him return to Silver Screen.

Shamshera has great actors and the story is written in good faith as well. It starts off with the story of how the Khamerans, the cast in India before the East India Company came was uprooted from their native land and wandering for a place to stay but allowed nowhere and that gives rise to Shamshera who after enduring so many fights back creating a nuisance for the Britishers by looting the local businessmen.

Then enters Shudh Singh, played by Sanjay Dutt who believes that the Khamerans are the lowest case and should not be allowed to live. Shudh Singh plays Shamshera after promising him and his people their freedom but then imprisoning all the Khamerans into a confined fort by Shudh Singh to work tirelessly. Shamshera, the leader of the Khamerans dies trying to escape the fort for the freedom of their people and is then stoned to death by his own people. Shamshera’s wife gives birth to a son named Balli who has to endure his father’s legacy of being a deserter by the very people for whom he fought.

Balli, after getting a thrashing from Sanjay Dutt gets to know his father’s true story and then he completes what his father died doing, trying to escape the fort. After his escape, he’s given specific instructions by Ronit Roy playing Peerbaba and also the narrator about what to do and who to meet, where he meets Saurabh Shukla and the other alive Khamerans who were waiting for their Shamshera to come back.

The film also introduces a lieutenant from East India Company who comes to investigate these loots who supersedes Shudh Singh in rank which also ends up in a clash between Shamshera and him ending up in Shamshera’s win but that also makes the officer aware of what the history has been for Khamerans and how they were created with.

We’re followed by the cat and mouse game between the British Company and Shamshera which ends up in the death of a member of the gang which leads to one of them ending up as a snitch and then the gang is slaughtered remaining with only 3 members including Balli.

Shamshera Movie Review

Balli comes up with his last play, stealing the Queen’s Crown as she’s on the whole Indian Tour so he steals that Crown and demands the freedom of his people in exchange for the crown but that ends in vain after all the Britishers are slaughtered by a plan by Shudh Singh leaving only Balli and his gang with the rest of the Khamerans on the other side of the fort who are imprisoned.

Beaten brutally and on the ground, Peerbaba played by Ronit Roy tells the Khamerans about the truth of Shamshera and then all of them together break the barriers and chains and let themselves free realizing that they also need to step up for their freedom and the leader can only do so much. The film ends up with Sanjay Dutt dying exactly how Shamshera was killed, stoned to death, and hanging.

"I'm just a humble cinephile with a knack for stringing words together. My reviews may not be as fancy as "The Grand Budapest Hotel" but they'll give you a good idea of whether a movie is worth the ticket price. I may not be a "Casablanca" of criticism, but I'll always give you my honest opinion. So join me on this journey of cinematic discovery, it's sure to be "One for the Ages."
