Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani Review: Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani started in an excellent way in terms of advance booking and footfalls. More than 80k tickets were sold in just advance booking alone. There is a much higher number of footfalls, and we’ll give you a detailed report afterward. Here, we’re telling you about what’s good and what’s bad in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

First of all, we appreciate the role of Dharmendraji. They appeared on the big screens after a long time, and that too in a family entertainer by director Karan Johar.

When the trailer of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was released, audiences started comparing it with K3G (Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Ghum) and 2 States. But this movie does pass out a special message. The remixes with old 90’s songs were soulful on the big screens.

I watched this movie in today’s afternoon show in a fully packed cinema hall.

What’s Good?

The chemistry between Alia and Ranveer was really magical. Ranveer as Rocky Randhawa was totally hilarious. The dialogues of Ranveer Singh were well-written. It looks like Ranveer Singh is back, and this movie definitely marks his comeback. Since the pre-screening, Ranveer is getting so much appreciation.

There are some unreleased songs from the movie; one is from Sonu Nigam, which is a sad song, the “Tum Kya Mile” reprise version, and the ending songs are still unreleased. The casting, music, locations, colors, and dialogues were all great. Karan Johar is back after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which was released in 2016.

The movie starts with the introduction of Ranveer Singh as Rocky Randhawa. There are some cameos in Ranveer Singh’s introductory song, “Heartthrob,” which is still not released. Makers kept this song a secret, and the cinema hall experience of the music was amazing. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani does an excellent job; the movie is completely a family entertainer.

Jaya Bachchan as Dharmendra’s wife was shown very arrogant throughout the movie. Jaya Bachchan plays the character of Dhanlaxmi. Dhanlaxmi wants everything under her control. She controlled her son (Tijori played by Aamir Bashir) already to take over control of the whole family. The movie teaches about acceptance; everyone has different views.

This movie showcases that thing only; every family has a different culture. The movie is all about that thing only. The storyline was predictable, but the movie was enjoyable, and the dialogues were hilarious. The first half was filled with so much humor and family drama. The second half starts with some comic scenes, and then seriousness arises.

The movie teaches how we should adjust to each other; we shouldn’t judge each other quickly. The movie talks about humanity and many more. There are some powerful dialogues also where audiences started clapping in the cinema halls.

What’s Bad

Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi were miscast; it looks like there were so many emotional scenes in the whole film, but the touch was missing. Ranveer did his best, but emotions didn’t touch the hearts. The movie is definitely a classic romantic comedy-drama movie, but the lack of emotions is a part of this movie.

Special appreciation for Alia Bhatt; she’s a show-stealer. The movie is doing very well because of 50% of her effort. Her fan following is strong, and she’s one of the young talented superstar actresses. Now, if we compare her with other actresses, she’ll definitely come on top of that list. Her role as Rani Chatterjee was brilliant. If you’re free this weekend and want to spend some time with your family, then this movie is a perfect weekend watch for your family.

  1. A horrible and terribly inaccurate review. I watched the movie and many people were touched by it’s emotional quotient.
