Reacher Season 2 Episode 1: Reacher is an American action crime streaming TV series, developed by Nick Santora for Amazon Prime Video, based on the Jack Reacher book series by Lee Child. The series follows the story of a self-proclaimed hobo and former U.S. Army military policeman named Jack, who faces dangerous criminals on his travels.
The first season is based on Killing Floor, while the second season is based on Bad Luck and Trouble.
Episode 1 of Season 2 begins in Murfreesboro, Arkansas where we see that Jack Reacher saves a woman and her son from a carjacker in the Catskill Mountains, NY. After that, we finds that Reacher is in a thrift store, where he buys clothes for $1 and helps the shop assistant wash them. He notices a 50% off sign, so he pays the remaining amount at an ATM. At the ATM, he spots a woman battered and bruised, anxiously withdrawing cash.

Reacher smashes a window with his jacket, beating the man and removing his gun. Reacher leaves and doesn’t want to get involved. He gets a receipt from the ATM and returns to a thrift store, giving the shop assistant $30 and a new jacket. Reacher leaves the shop without questioning it and leaves the phone behind.
The scene shifts to a flashback, where we see that Reacher is in army uniform in Rock Creek Virginia, and Calvin Franz arrives to see him. Reacher tells him he spotted him sorting out an issue between two men and thought he would fit well in his team. Where, Reacher and Franz enter a run-down room in the 110th MP Special Investigations Unit’s headquarters, where they play games and banter.
Again, Scene shifts to present day in Williamsburg, New York where Reacher joins Neagley, a P.I., who shows him the files on Franz’s murder and we finds that Franz went missing from his home a week ago, and his widow, Angela, informed her about the incident. Reacher reveals that Franz was tortured and thrown from a helicopter.
Reacher and Franz enter a run-down room in the 110th MP Special Investigations Unit’s headquarters, where they play games and banter. Frances Neagley and David O’Donnell are present, and Reacher instructs them to sort the room out. A bald man with a notepad is introduced, spying on them from the black Sudan.

In the end of episode, We see that Reacher, Neagley, and O’Donnell search for Swan’s house and find his dog dead of dehydration. Reacher suspects Swan is likely dead, as he wouldn’t let a dog die of thirst. The team can’t find other team members, and Franz is confirmed dead. The team finds over 10 names with the initials A.M., and decides to track down Swan, who was part of their team and episode ends.
