The deal was with popular basketball star Michale Jordan who was new at time but signed the deal with Nike which was more than their budget making them successful and Phil Knight becomes one of the richest person on earth at that time.
His role is potrayed by Ben Affleck who is also the director of the movie he is known for his very popular role as Bruce Wayne/Batman in films Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Suicide Squad (2016), and Justice League (2017).
