Nando Parrado Andes Plane Crash (1972): Netflix’s original Spanish Survival Drama film “Society of Snow” is based on the 1972 plane crash incident in the Andes mountains. This movie is adapted from a book of the same name written by Pablo Vierci.

Before starting the Discussion, let’s have a quick recap of the story. The story is about a group of Uruguay Rugby players who went for a trip to Santiago de Chile. But during the crossing of the Great Andean Mountain Range, their plane brutally crashed. After a long 71 days, they finally get rescued.
Nando is the most stubborn guy in the team. He doesn’t know how to accept the loss. In any situation, he stands still & fights no matter what will happen to him. Nando started this journey along with his sister Susy & Mother too. But after that plane crash, he lost them both. At first, he became hopeless but later he stopped doing give up. He got inspiration from Numa & started everything to save his team. First of all, he tried hard to find the tail end of the Plane in the Snows because the tail end consists of batteries.
With these batteries, they can start the radio to seek help. But it didn’t work. On the other side, Numa is dead. Watching Numa die he takes the lead & risks his whole life to rescue the others. He, along with Roberto Canessa, went to find a valley. After trekking a long 10 days without any help, he finally found a valley. So, that he asks for help & rescued 14 others who were still in the Andean Mountain range. That’s how in this rescue operation his contribution is most important.
In the movie, the Character of “Parrado” is played by 29 years actor Agustín Pardella. He did movies like “Pinamar”(2016), “Bromance ‘(2016), etc.
Nando Parrado was born in Uruguay in 1949. His full name is Fernando Seler Parrado Dolgay. He did trekking for 10 days long to help his friend survive from the plane crash. For his efforts, he has been recognized by media, books, etc. Later he became a writer as well as a Motivational speaker too.
Returning from that horrible place, he stopped his study because he still can’t forget the loss of his mother & daughter. So, later he helped in his father’s business & also started his career as a racing car driver. After the marriage with Veronique Van Wassenhove, he became a father of two children. 74 years old Parrado is still alive & enjoying his life.
