Mahaan Review: Amazon Prime Video original film Mahaan was released a few hours back on the Platforms, after the Jagame Thandhiram, this is the second direct OTT release for the director Karthik Subbaraj, how is the film ? and should you give your time to it? Here is the detailed review of the Vikram and Dhruv Vikram starrer Tamil action-drama Mahaan.

The movie stars Vikram in the main lead role, the film also stars Dhruv Vikram in the crucial role along with Bobby Simha, Simran, and Vani Bhojan with Sananth as the supporting role, the film is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by S.S Lalith Kumar, the music of the film is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, let’s Jump to the review.

The story of the film revolves around Gandhi Mahaan (Played by Vikram), the father of Gandhi wants him to become a man of good moral value but Gandhi loves to gamble and do other stuff. Gandhi got somehow involved in the business of Liquor and Gambling and due to this, his wife left him. After a few years, the Son of Gandhi meets him in a shocking way, what happened after that? and what would be the end of the story?, to know this you have to watch a full movie on Amazon Prime Video.

The only good thing about the film is the performances by the lead actors, Vikaram is so freaking amazing, he looks so good in the role and his transformation is just unbbeliveble, his dialogue delivery, expressions everything was so good and it was a treat to see him in the film. Dhruv Vikram on the other way was also good, although he struggle during the few sequences, still, he manages to make an impact in the film.

Boby Simha, this man is unreal in the film, the amazing transformation, and the amazing performance, he looks almost unrecognizable, he is the best performer in the film and I liked his performance the most, his dialogue delivery and body language were amazing and he is ruling the film. Other actors like Simran and Vettai Muthukumar were good in the film. Sanath also did very good work in the role of Rocky.

The script, Screenplay, and writing are very bad, it looks like a low-grade film where everything can happen, I got the vibe of Karan Arjun while watching this, Three friends got separated in their childhood, and when they met again, they didn’t recognize themselves. The fun fact is, Gandhi, Needs to play Poker, NO issue, his childhood friend owns a bar. Gandhi Needs to get a contract for liquor selling, No issue, his childhood friend is MLA. Gandhi blackmails a Deputy CM just by a video, Gandhi can do anything. I mean seriously? is this some kind of joke, I never expected this kind of script from a south Indian film.

The screenplay is very bad, the editing is very bad and the climax is very predictable and it looks like a 90s happy ending film. The locations are amazing, the fight sequences were great but these things were not enough to save this film.

I am going with 1.5 out of 5 stars for the film, 1 star if for Amazing acting and half is for the fight sequences and the locations, rest there is nothing to watch in the film, I will suggest you to skip the film and don’t waste your time on it. If you still want to watch it, You can have a look at Mahaan on Amazon Prime Video.
