Durgamati (Durgavati) Movie Review: Bhumi Pednekar starer Prime Video original movie Durgamati earlier titled as Durgavati is now released on Amazon Prime Video, and here we are going to review the movie, we would talk about the story, performances and few more aspects from the movie.

The movie is produced by Akshay Kumar and Bhushan Kumar and is a remake of the south movie Bhagimati starring Anushka Shetty, so if you had seen that movie already don’t watch this, because the movie is exactly the same as Durgamati.

Plot

The plot of the movie revolves around an IAS officer Chanchal (Played By Bhumi Pedenekar), She was caught by police due to some criminal activities (No Spoilers :-p) and the investigation team took her to the Durgamati Haveli situated in the middle of a village and there comes the twist in the story where she starts behaving like a Ghost, she was attacked many times by some evil spirit when the investigators tried to found out the reason behind this, they were shocked, what was the reason of attacks and what the past connection of that, to know that you have to watch the full movie on Amazon Prime Video.

Performances

Sometimes voice plays a more important role than body language and expression and this is exactly where the film lacks, Bhumi Pedenekar tried all her best in the role but still, she doesn’t fir into the role, in the introductory speech of Durgamati she is terrible with dialogue delivery, she was good with her body languages and expression but her voice doesn’t fit with the role, other actors were also decent and the performances are the only little plus points from the movie.

Screenplay & Others

The film is just poorest here, the screenplay is worst, there is nothing like suspense in the movie except initial 20-30 minutes, the editing is also at its low and the movie very dull and slow in the middle, the locations were good and the film impresses me here, the background music from the movie sucks too, it feels like music for normal drama serial, horror movie needs some great music and here you would be disappointed.

The biggest joke about the movie is it doesn’t scares you it all, imagine you are watching a horror movie and there is no scares in the movie, not even a single scares, the movie looks like a tv serial drama with few twists and turns.

Overall

The movie may feel good for the new viewers as they are unaware of the Climax and ending, but if you had already watched the old movie (dubbed version), this new version is going to disappoint you for sure. You can have a look at the movie on Prime Video if you hadn’t seen the Bhanumati, but please go with the least expectations.

The one plus point about the movie is, it is suitable for family watching, there is no skin show or any abusive dialogues, so you can watch the movie along with family, the movie is approx 2 hours long and now available on Prime Video in Hindi Audio with subtitles.
