Suzume, one of the most awaited anime films of the year has been released in the theatres and it just doesn’t come with high expectations but for good enough reasons because the director and animator of the film, Makoto Shinkai has never once disappointed the audience. For Suzume, the fans have started showering the film with immense love and for well enough reasons.

It tells the story of Suzume who lives with her aunt after her mother dies in a tsunami and she gets swept away in an adventure involving Souta, a closer who comes from a family which is responsible for closing the gates that keep appearing all around Japan allowing the other worldly worm-like creature to come to this world and wreaking havoc in the form of earthquakes. Suzume, at one point, loses the company of Souta and then it’s her journey to free Souta.

What’s interesting in the film is how Makoto Shinkai uses characters and they traverse through the storyline so easily which is something he did with Weathering With You where he did a cameo of his Your Name characters, Taki and Mitsuha. One might be wondering if this also has any cameo by any of the previous Makoto Shinkai’s characters, specifically Taki or Mitshuha? Here’s what we know

Suzume Ending Explained: Do Taki and Mitsuha make an appearance?

Well, the short answers, no. Taki and Mitsuha from Your Name do not make a cameo in Suzume. In fact, their little cameo in Weathering With You made fans go crazy and for good enough reasons. Your Name was very well made and made us fall for the lead characters. However, this is not the case for Suzume. No cameos but Suzume and Souta are enough to fall in love with the film.

Suzume is currently in the theatres near you.

"I'm just a humble cinephile with a knack for stringing words together. My reviews may not be as fancy as "The Grand Budapest Hotel" but they'll give you a good idea of whether a movie is worth the ticket price. I may not be a "Casablanca" of criticism, but I'll always give you my honest opinion. So join me on this journey of cinematic discovery, it's sure to be "One for the Ages."
