While Netflix shares have taken a dip for the worse, the streaming giant is looking for content that can engage the users more and maybe show an upward trend in the not so looking foreseeable future of Netflix.
This week, Netflix has premiered the BBC One Crime Series titled “You Don’t Know Me” which aired on BBC One on Dec 2021. Based on the same-named crime novel by Imran Mahmood. It’s a 4-episode series, which is the usual format in British Drama Industry. Written for TV by Tom Edge who also wrote Lovesick, Judy, and the second season of The Crown.
Directed by Sarmad Masud (My Pure Land), the series is about a young man who is accused of murder, and instead of getting a lawyer to tell his story for him, he decides to plead his case to the jury in his own words and that’s the crux of the mini-series.
The series looks like a far-fetched idea of emotions in a courtroom and that is true, but it also talks about the fact that you yourself can present a case for yourself, no one else especially if you hasn’t committed the crime.
In the series, all the evidence is against this young man from South London and he goes on to tell his extraordinary story about love, sacrifice, and humanity. The series has had its international release this week and it can be streamed on Netflix in Hindi & English.
