Phil Tippett is known as the Master Animator and Visual Effects Supervisor who has been associated with Jurassic Park (Steven Spielberg), Dragonslayer, Star Wars. He’s an Oscar & Emmy Award Winner Producer and he’s been working on a film for 30 years. Why has he been working on a film like that? What is that film about?

The film titled “Mad God” is a stop motion animation film that requires so much effort to pose and photograph each frame and that takes a hell of a lot of time to complete. Now, if you’re working with a short film, that’s okay but if you’re doing a feature film then you are in for a long period of wait and persistence and that makes the film “Mad God” worth the wait. The film has been completed and was premiered at the Locarno Film Festival.

Early reviews for the film are riveting, even Guillermo Del Toro saying that “Phil Tippett is a master” to all high praise for the film. From the trailer, it looks like a creepy underworld thriller and we’re seeing the characters Phil Tippett has drawn over the years.

You cannot get the plot of the film from the trailer itself and that is interesting to watch. The film was funded through a Kickstarter. The official runtime of the film is 83 Minutes and it is now available to stream on Shudder.

"I'm just a humble cinephile with a knack for stringing words together. My reviews may not be as fancy as "The Grand Budapest Hotel" but they'll give you a good idea of whether a movie is worth the ticket price. I may not be a "Casablanca" of criticism, but I'll always give you my honest opinion. So join me on this journey of cinematic discovery, it's sure to be "One for the Ages."
