Returning to Silver Screen, Penélope Cruz has made a comeback with Pedro Almodóvar’s new film titled “Parallel Mothers” co-starring Milena Smit. The film tells us about two single women who are different from each other in terms of age, one is middle-aged and the other one is adolescent but they have one thing in common they both are pregnant.

While the character played by Penélope does not regret her condition, the other one does and is scared. What follows is how both of them share a common element in between and how they form a bond and guide through life as they enter motherhood.

The film feels like a raw experience from both perspectives, one follows entering motherhood in middle age which is considered somewhat late by the norms pressed onto us by the society and the other perspective is entering motherhood too early when you’re not even sure about your life, let alone take care or be responsible for someone else, not forgetting the single mother part of it. Penélope Cruz won Volpi Cup for Best Actress for her role in Parallel Mothers.

Te Director is famous for his films showing raw humor with melodrama and complex narratives which shows in his latest directorial venture. The film was released in 2021 and has been dubbed in HINDI for the Indian Audience, the film is available to stream on BookMyShow.

"I'm just a humble cinephile with a knack for stringing words together. My reviews may not be as fancy as "The Grand Budapest Hotel" but they'll give you a good idea of whether a movie is worth the ticket price. I may not be a "Casablanca" of criticism, but I'll always give you my honest opinion. So join me on this journey of cinematic discovery, it's sure to be "One for the Ages."
