What Was ‘The Tongue’ In True Detective Season 4?: HBO original presents a six-episodic psychological murder investigation series. It’s the fourth part of the ” True Detective” anthology series. It’s a completely new story starring with detective Liz Danvers & her partner Evangeline Navarro.
In the last episode, we got a clearance of lots of questions. Annie is a crucial part of the Tsalal Case. From the beginning, we understood that there must be a huge link & it connected at the end episode. However, some questions are still left unanswered. In this article, we are gonna discuss one of these questions. We will discuss;
“Who left Annie’s Tounge at Tsalal Station”?
Before starting the discussion let’s have a quick recap of the story of this series. The story is set in a fictional town named Ennis where some scientists died mysteriously. Two directives are on the way to solve the mystery where they found a direct connection of this case with the murder of a girl that happened six years ago.
So, Annie is a big mystery of this case. If we look closely we understand that it’s a very simple case. The Tsalal scientists killed Annie K , six years ago & left her body in the underground. Later a cop came & took that body to the city. Now, we understand that the Women of this city need justice of Annie’s murder. So they punished those scientists.
The cop who moves Annie’s body from that research center is no one but Hank Prior. But, why he gonna cut her tongue & left her there? It’s logicless!
Now, let’s move into more deeper theory. If we understand carefully you might also see it’s not a natural case. From the first episode, it shows some supernatural things. Detective Navarro also heard some unknown voices which took them into the secret lab. This mysterious voice is such an entity that never existed but she needs justice on her own.
Navarro & Liz both worked for Annie’s murder case but got nothing & the case shut down. The girl didn’t get justice so as her soul. Leaving her tongue in the Tsalal research ( which we saw in the first episode) is just denoting that the case is directly linked with Annie’s murder case. So, we can say it’s Annie’s soul, that secretly guides both Liz & Navarro. If she hadn’t placed her tongue there nobody would have known about her connection with silver sky mining & Tsalal Research Centre.
That’s all, that’s our theory about this question. So, We think that It’s Annie who left her own tongue in that Research center to provide clues to the detectives Liz & Navarro.
