“Three of Us Review: “Three of Us” is a family drama movie recently released on Netflix. The movie originally premiered at the International Film Festival of India in 2022, and after one year, it finally released on the OTT platform.

The movie is written and directed by Avinash Arun, who is a genius cinematographer. He shot movies like “Hichki” and “Madaari.” The movie stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Shefali Shah, and Swanand Kirkire in the lead roles. Now, let’s talk about the story of this movie.

There is a Hindi term, “Udgam,” which means “Origin.” This is what the movie actually is. We know about a middle-aged woman named Shailaja Desai, played by Shefali Shah, who is suffering from dementia. In this situation, her husband Dipankar Desai, played by Swanand Kirkire, takes her to her childhood village Konkan. The village Konkan is the origin place where Shailaja actually lost her memory.

Visiting old schools, beaches, and temples, she slowly gains her childhood memories. But there, she also finds her childhood love, Pradip Kamat, played by Jaideep Ahlawat. An unfinished love between Shailaja and Pradip slowly brightens up. Shailaja’s husband and Pradip’s wife understand them. It’s good to see that the writer didn’t make complications in both relationships. In fact, both of their relationships became stronger.

But there’s something about her past that is so dark that she wants to forget. What is it? To know about this, you have to see the movie.

The movie “Three of Us” is about Shailaja, Pradip, and Dipankar’s journey, where Dipankar takes his wife Shailaja to the rural village to retrieve her old memories. In this journey, Pradip also helps her because once upon a time, Pradip secretly loved Shailaja. But Shailaja left the village without informing him about a horrible incident. Shailaja found love in Pradip’s eyes and also in her village, where she used to be so happy. The movie also shows how a dry relationship bloomed again like a flower.

The movie is pure art. In these days where action movies are ruling in cinema halls, this movie is so mesmerizing. Avinash Arun’s cinematography is so aesthetic that it can touch your heart. The soothing music adds some extra flavor to make this movie perfect. Not only this, the movie shows the beautiful culture of a village, which is too good to watch.

Performance are the biggest plus point of this movie. You will surely be amazed by Shefali Shah’s acting; she is so charming that you can’t take your eyes off her. On the other side, Jaideep Ahlawat again does an outstanding job. Swanand Kirkire also plays his role perfectly. Overall, the performance is top-notch, giving extra strength to the movie.

Moreover, this movie is something out of the box. However, this type of movie may not work for everyone. I will say, if you get bored watching action movies over and over again, then this is the movie that will enchant your eyes and mind. The movie represents how life can be beautiful and adorable in village areas.

“Three of Us” is currently streaming on Netflix with Hindi language along with subtitles.
