  1. I loved it. I hope there is a 2nd season. I would love to see how Bruno and Alex’s relationship develop. They are both so endearing. Beautiful inside and out. J’adore. The rest of the cast and their relationships are also wonderful. Such a charming, unique, colourful and heart-warming series So Spanish and love it! More please!

  2. Good series and have faced many of the issues all the characters are showing And yep, I believe the red string theory as well. Sad we have to now wait at least a year for Season 2

  3. Richard Spillane on

Just watched all 8 episodes and loved this show!!!! I will be encouraging my friends to watch it and please continue with more Series!!!

  4. I didn’t really mind it, but looking at how the whole thing is played out in its structure (traditional romantic comedy as it is), when the two halves of the couple finally get together, we have our happy ending and it’s over. The writers would have to work to generate more conflict and provide obstacles for everyone to maintain the tension. Here, obstacles were erected in every relationship to keep the will-they-or-won’t-they going. As much as I enjoyed the show, now that the two central characters have gotten together, that same dynamic no longer exists, and the romantic comedy has reached its logical endpoint. How many more times can we push these people at each other and pull them apart? Even Harry and Sally got a happy ending once they realized that the were meant for each other. There’s only so far that rom-com tropes can be stretched before they break. The writers would basically have to turn the show into something else, like a domestic sitcom. Nope, these creators wrapped everything up with a nice little bow, and only Ibrah and Ramon got left out in the colde.

If Netflix does commission a second season, I’ll still watch, but it will feel like a dilution of the formula going forward.

  5. I can’t believe I ended up here after binging Season 1 of Smiley. I enjoyed every second of it. It’s well-written, funny, good acting, good representation if LGBTQI+ people (which we soooooo need) and I’d say it’s real!

    Can’t wait for Season 2!
