Paatal Lok Review : Amazon Prime video recently released Anushka Sharma Production house’s series Paatal lok, it was one of the most awaited series and due to this ongoing lockdown and eye-catching trailer it was one of highly anticipated series by Indian audiences, Amazon Prime Video released the series for Indian audiences on 15th May 2020 with a total of 9 episodes with it, here we are going to review the series.

If someone asks about the first Indian web series that became a massive hit, most of us would say, it’s Netflix original series sacred games, and this series is Amazon Prime’s own sacred games, based on the Book by Tarun Tejapl ‘The Story of My Assassins’, The series it high hitting crime thriller that shows the dark face of today’s politics and media.

Story

The story is about an attack on a well-known journalist Sajeev Mehra (Played by Neeraj Kabi) and the conspiracy theories behind it, the series starts with the arrest of 4 criminals that try to kill a famous Journalist, they got arrested and the case is handed over to the Police headed by Hathi Ram Choudhary ( Played By Jaideep Ahlawat) when Hathi Ram and his team tries to get to the core of case he gets to know some dark hitting secrets and then opens the real faces of politics and media. The story is very interesting and keeps you connected, as this is a spoiler-free review, we can’t say more about it.

Performances

The great actors are the core of the series, Jaideep Ahlawat at his best, other actors like Neera Kabi, Abhishek Banerjee Playing and Vikash Tyagi, Jagjeet Sandhu as Tope Singh, Ishwank Singh as Ansari and all other actors have done awesome jobs, they are worth watching, when you go through the series you are going to love the Jaideep more and more, he is just beyond awesome, from acting to dialogue delivery he never fails to impress us, Abhishek Banerjee has not much as dialogue still he put a great impact on the screen, all other co-actors in small and big roles have done a great job.

Screenplay & Editing

The first two episodes of the series are very very slow, but the real magic stars from the episode 3, after that we found yourself to be connected to the story and excited to know what happens next, all the episodes are great and brilliantly connected and edited except first 2 episodes, after the last episode you are surely going to ask for another season and most importantly you are going to love the dogs from Now.
