Only Murders In The Building Season 2 Episode 1 & 2 Ending Explained: “Only Murders In The Building” is back with Season 2 and the first two episodes are out. HULU’s true crime comedy-drama that debuted in 2021 was an instant hit with a cast that is producing the show as well.
Based on three true-crime nerds who live in a New York building called The Acronia, it tells the story of how three people try to solve a crime that the police cannot and also create a podcast about it simultaneously.
What do we know about the story so far?
In Season 1, after Charles, Mabel & Oliver solve the crime and were celebrating that, Mabel quickly goes to her apartment and after a short while Charles and Oliver come looking for her and they see Mabel soaked in blood with the body of Bunny (The Arconia’s Board President) killed with a knife and a knitting needle. We saw Mabel getting arrested by the Police and here’s how Season 1 ended.
Episodes 1 & 2, How do they look so far?
The show picks up from where it left last season. We’re shown the interrogation room and what happens there. All three of them, Charles, Mabel and Oliver are questioned with no real evidence which Mabel points out and it looks like a similar case as last time when the Police had no idea about who did it. Shortly after, all three of them are let go but with a warning that they are all “Persons Of Interest” and they should not do something that can incriminate them.
This Season has introduced some new characters as well, such as Amy Schumer playing herself who just moved into Sting’s place and is looking to buy the rights to the “Only Murders In The Building” and create a streaming series focusing on Jan (Killer from the first season) and of course, she’ll be playing Jan.
Cara Delevingne has also been introduced in Season 2 and she is playing Alice, an artist who approaches Mabel after her apartment pictures are released online. Mesmerized by her art, she invites Mabel to her art gallery and after meeting her, Mabel feels like she can get ahead of her life.
Tina Fey playing Cindy Canning, a very famous true-crime podcaster has started a podcast about the three (Charles, Mabel & Oliver) whether they are the real murderers or not and the three are not pleased about it.
The first two episodes are funny with Oliver trying to get every voice and line even though the other two do not want to do the podcast anymore since things have started to look up for Charles and Mabel.
Mabel thinks she has a place and thing to do, be an artist. Charles gets a call from his manager who tells him that Brazzos, his show which he doesn’t stop mentioning is getting a reboot in which he will play “Uncle Brazzos” and is a series regular.
Now, the two of them have something to lose because if they are in any way incriminated, they will lose it. With Cindy Canning’s podcast turning them in their sleep, they think it’s better to let their podcast speak for themselves and prove their innocence. Hence, they restart the podcast for Season 2.
