Jaane Jaan Review: The Netflix original film “Jaane Jaan” marks Kareena Kapoor’s debut on the OTT platform, but it seems this is not a dream debut for Kareena Kapoor Khan. I just finished watching the film, and here is a detailed review of it.
The film stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Vijay Varma, and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the main lead roles. The film is created and directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The film is around 2 hours long and is now streaming on Netflix in Hindi and other dubbed versions, along with subtitles.
The story of the film revolves around Maya, who is living with her daughter. She has a dark past, and one day when her husband comes to meet her, something happens that no one had expected. Maya’s husband, Ajit, goes missing, and Inspector Karan starts the investigation of the film. In between all of this, Maya’s neighbor gets involved in the case, and he starts helping Maya. Who killed Ajit, and will Karan be able to solve the case? To find out, you need to watch the full movie on Netflix.
Coming to the writing of the film, I liked the writing of the film. There are some sequences where the film may look a little bit slow and dull, but most of the time, it will keep you hooked until the end. The locations and the BGM of the film are decent. The screenplay is stunning, and the same goes for the editing of the film. Half of the credit for this thriller goes to Sujoy Ghosh for the excellent direction.
As for the performances, Kareena Kapoor Khan looks good as Maya, but this is surely not one of her best performances to date. The character was missing that emotional connect. Jaideep is the real star of the film, and he nailed it. He carries the whole film all the time, and he was just mind-blowing in the character. Vijay Varma, on the other hand, looks decent, and he has nothing much to experiment with within the film.
- Rating: 3/5
- Age Rating: Suitable For Family Watch
I am giving the film 3 out of 5 stars. The climax of the film is a treat to watch, and if you like crime thriller films, you are going to love this for sure. The film is suitable to watch with family and kids and you can watch it on Netflix and a few more dubbed versions.
