Summary
Almost everyone knows that the film is based on the Real Life story of Gangubai, The film is about a Small town girl Gangu who was sold at Mumbai Red Light’s area in Kamathipura by his Husband at a Very Early Age. She was tortured thereby many and one day her life changes completely when she met the local Mafia Karim Lala. Karim Lala announces her as the Rakhi sister and after that, she becomes the most powerful woman in the Kamathipura, she contested elections, and one big day she even met with the then Prime Minister of India Jawahar Lal Nehru.
The Ending
The film ends with the Celebration, The locals of the Kamathipura were celebrating the victory of Gangubai over Razia Bai in the local Municipal election. Just before this we get to see Gangubai meeting with Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, She asked him to legalize Prostitution, Nehru agrees to make a law on that, and after that Gangu Returns from there. The celebration begins when everyone gets to know that Gangubai won the election by defeating the Raziabai and the film ends here.
Although the Prime Minister never acted on his promise and no law of legalizing Protistuation is made yet by the government of India. Although there are large numbers of Red Light areas are running in Mumbai, Kolkatta, and many other parts of the country, No laws are made till today by any government to regulate all these things.
