Wonderful World K Drama Review: Disney presents its next Korean thriller drama “Wonderful World.” The series has fourteen episodes with more than 1 hour of runtime per episode. The story revolves around Eun Soo-Hyun, a writer and a professor who is very famous and well-established, living a happy life with her husband and son. One day, her son gets in an accident and dies at a young age.
Eun Soo-Hyun’s family is shaken by that incident, and the culprit who killed her son gets out of court without any charges by altering the evidence and bribing the higher officials. To avenge her son’s death, she kills the guy who killed her son and goes to prison. After she comes out of prison, she starts helping others who got affected like her.
This drama is directed by Lee Seung-Young, who did the famous Korean drama “Voice 2” and written by Kim Ji Eun. This kind of story is not a new thing in the Korean industry. We have seen a lot of Korean revenge thrillers for years. They have covered almost every type of thriller plot till now. This drama is just another addition to the revenge thriller genre series.
The series started as a plain story then turned into a depressing and then shifted to thrilling drama in each episode. The director did a good job showing the emotional connection between the mother and her child. They added many flashback scenes to make the bond visible all over the series. There is a 7-year time gap in the series after Eun Soo-Hyun went to jail.
The director and the writer concentrated on the emotional connections between the characters rather than relying on the thrilling elements only. Family viewers will get an attachment to the story of this drama by this kind of emotional impact the director added.
Review: Wedding Impossible Review | Amazon Prime Video
The main reason the drama is getting better through the episode is because of the unexpected twists happening in the series. There are many high moments in the drama in which the audience feel the need to wait for the next episode. The cinematography did great work in the drama. Each shot was amazing. They used natural vibrant shots to show the pleasant life on one side and the dark shaded shots to show the thrilling and depressing side. The background scores were very impressive.
The use of correct background music at the right time in the right way made the impact far more high. The background music placed at the emotional scenes was really touching and addictive. The thrilling portions also had the best scores placed. The whole drama became more interesting especially because of these background scores.

Every cast member put their maximum effort to live like the characters in the drama. Everyone did their best performances throughout the drama. Especially Eun Soo-Hyun, which is acted by Kim Nam-Joo, a famous Korean actress. She did an excellent job playing the role of Eun Soo-Hyun. The acting she did at the emotional scenes was really good.
Kang Soo-Ho, who is the husband of Eun Soo-Hyun’s character, which was played by Kim Kang-Woo, also did his best work in this drama. This drama has many high moments and also many dull moments. The runtime is higher and sometimes it’s very lagging. Scenes are stretched at many portions. There are lots of unwanted dramatic scenes in this drama.
Overall, this drama is an okay watchable one. The plot is thrilling but at the same time, it’s very depressing and dull at times. If you like this kind of genre and can watch for more than an hour of runtime, this will be an okay watch. If they had trimmed some lag scenes it would have been a bit more racy and better watchable.
I will rate this 2.5 out of 5 for this Korean drama.
