Mitch McCormick’s The Jewel Thief: The latest docu-series is now streaming on HULU, telling the story of the mastermind criminal Gerald Blanchard and his creative and calculated approach to crime. Here, we are going to talk about Mitch, who was one of the leading detectives in this case. Let’s talk about him.
His original name is Mitchell; his teammates used to call him Mitch. At first, he was not associated with Larry or the main unit of the police. The police department was looking for a team player to play hockey as a right-winger in their team, so he joined as a hockey player. He mentioned this in his interview in the series.
After some time, he and Larry became good friends. He started as a junior officer but due to his hard work and dedication, he got promoted and became the team leader in the Assault Squad during high-risk situations. He later worked as a leading detective. He spent almost 28 years in the force, working on various major cases, some of which were highly successful.
As of now, he is retired from the police and is living in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with his wife and two daughters.
