After appearing for a cameo in Marvel’s Doctor Strange 2, John Krasinski is all set to direct his new film. Besides John Krasinski, the film includes big names like ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Free Guy’ starring Ryan Reynolds, ‘Fleabag starring Phoebe Walter Bridge, and ‘The Office starrer Steve Carell. The film also includes an experienced crew like Janusz Kaminski (famed for The BGF and Ready Player One). Moreover, this multi-starrer is written by John Krasinski himself.

After long delays due to Ryan Reynolds’ date unavailability and a break from filmmaking, the film has finally begun its production. John Krasinski recently shared a picture announcing the commencement of production of the project.

The film is titled ‘Imaginary Friends. As interesting as the title, the plot revolves around a man who has special abilities to communicate with and befriend others, imaginary friends. Overall, the film is a pure fantasy comedy family entertainer with a hint of emotions.

In addition to this, audiences will get to see Steve and John share screen space together after a long span of 9 years since they last united on ‘The Office’ show. The film is also expected to create a new comedy trio with the addition of one of the most humorous actors, Ryan Reynolds, to the previously known duo.

After a humongous bidding war from studios like Lionsgate and Sony due to its huge cast and new plot, Paramount Pictures has successfully won the rights to the film and will produce it and distribute it across America. On the other hand, the film is produced by Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski himself. The film is currently prepped for release in May 2024.
