The series is based on the popular 2013 video game, which was developed by Naughty Dog and was created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. This series follows the story of a smuggler whose assigned a task to safely escort a girl named Ellie in this post-apocalyptic world.

In episode 1, we learn that she already knows about Ellie, and she prioritizes her safety with her Fireflies team, telling them to be sure about her and that she didn’t affect them, aside from the fact that they are aware of her being bitten. We also see that she is being shot, and she tells Joel and Tess to take Ellie to the Capitol building because it is under Fireflies’ control.
Whereas we see that she is the leader of the Fireflies, which is a rebel group whose only mission is to find the cure for this virus; they try to overthrow FEDRA. As we watch, we see that she and her team are able to find the cure and save Ellie’s life.
