The story starts with Maggie Sullivan who is a neurosurgeon in a hospital in Boston and currently is dealing with an emergency case of an accident where two patients are injured badly after the surgery she is leaving, she lives with her husband or boyfriend Andrew, later that night Maggie is in a function with her husband it was like a charity function by the hospital, but out of nowhere police came and arrested Andrew and Maggie.
Now cut to the present where Maggie is driving back to her hometown Sullivans crossing, as soon as she gets back there, she meets with her grandfather and grandmother and in the backyard with her father Sully Sullivan. His father wants to book a hotel room for her but he said that he wants to go home in her bedroom, she then goes home remembering her old memories, later she goes outside to relax and while she was lying in the dockyard she met with Cal Jones there, who is her neighbor and wants to talk to her, she also met with her friend Sydney there.
While walking home she found a man searching for his wife and is doing strange behavior, she told her family that she is suffering from some brain problem, but her grandmother told her that he does these strange things since her wife passed out, she calls her husband who says to her that she must return and they will find a new job for her but she said she wants to live there for few time and will maintain a distant relationship.

In the end, she goes to a get-together and we came to know that many people do not know about her and that she is Sully’s daughter. They are having a party at the night and even Cal does not know that she is Sully’s daughter, he came to know about that later at night when she is kind of making fun of her in front of Sully.
Before ending Maggie receives a call from his lawyer who tells her that, in the emergency case she is dealing with in the starting one of them died, and his mother is having a case against her and the hospital if she losses the case she will also lose her license and the episode ends.
