Sampurna Review Hoichoi: Hoichoi always brings new content that are of various genres and topic. This time hoichoi has released a series on a topic that is also a social cause and crime which is very rarely discussed and shared
The series stars Sohini Sarkar, Rajnandini Paul, Anubhav Kanijal, Prantik Banerjee, Laboni Sarkar, Rajat Ganguly, Parometa Mukherjee in the main lead roles.
The series “Sampurna” revolves around the life of a happy Wife Sampurna who lives with her husband and in-laws happily. Her life turns upside down when suddenly she comes to know about how her brother-in-law tortures his newly wedded wife Nandini. Nandini being a victim of domestic violence & Marital Rape makes Sampurna raise voice against his brother-in-law which in turn makes her family against her. How she fights against it and whether will she be able to fight and bring justice to Nandini is what the story revolves around.
Domestic Violence & Marital R@pe topic is lastly shown in the Season 2 of Hotstar’s “Criminal Justice”. Sampurna’s series tries to explore various situations that domestic violence victim faces when they are being forced by their in-laws and even parents to stay together even after serious injustice is done to her and this series brilliantly manage to capture it in a humble and nonpreachy way.
The 6 episode series is fast-paced, gripping, and will keep you engaged and hooked throughout and has a dark & intense touch to it. The BGM of the series will make a few scenes more intense & dark.
You can feel emotionally connected to the character of Nandini and Sampurna. The series is relatable and tries to share the message of how many women are victims of domestic abuse and violence, Marital R@pes, and atrocities which they fear to speak out and share.
Marital R@pe & Domestic Violence is itself a very difficult topic to make content on and justify it in a way that doesn’t hurt people. This series manages to explore this topic and also speak for a cause that is done very rarely.
After considering all factors I am going with 3.5 stars for this series and this series is a must-watch if you want to watch something based on a social message and cause.
