Last Week Tonight With John Oliver keeps coming up with something new and humorous in each story that they do and this week was no different. This week’s story was on “The Monarchy” specifically to the UK’s Royal Family and what role does it have in the whole system and the power and approval it does very much keep in the eyes of people all around the world.
The Episode focussed on what their official status is as of now and given King Charles is the current King and is going to be crowned next year in a ceremony. Given what the Monarchy had been involved in history and how they express their remorse over those atrocities, John gave us an idea of what we can expect from the Monarchy in the future.
However, John was going to dissect The Monarchy in this Episode the Episode airs worldwide with their partner channels and in the UK, it airs on SkyTV and given their history with the network, SkyTV actually cut some of the jokes John had previously made about the Queen and The Monarchy so it was going to be a bit of a dicey question whether SkyTV will air this Episode or not so he did something!
John Oliver sent SkyTV an alternate Episode right after the moment he starts to talk about The Monarchy which includes the 25-minute loop of a video of Winston Churchill going backward on a water slide set to the Benny Hill theme which is replaced with the main story.
