Who Was Dupont de Ligonnès In Real?

The murder of Dupont de Ligonnès and her four children with their two dogs has been one of the most spine chilling cases in real life as well as in the show. The family had been murdered, every one of them had been shot and the only person missing from the family picture was Xavier, the father of the children and the husband of Dupont. This established that he might be the killer of the family. The case happened on April 21st, 2011 in Dupont de Ligonnès home in Nantes, France.

No fingerprints of Xavier were ever found thus making him the perfect suspect of the murder. He sent out letters to his loved ones writing that he was a secret agent Moving to America with his family. Reports said that he had acquired a .22 rifle from his father. Xavier was reported to be seen in Roquebrune-sur-Argens, where he abandoned his car at a hotel.

What Happened To Them?

Police believe that he has committed suicide but his friend in the episode said that he is alive and probably well. He might have gone to Latin America since his English and Spanish were good. Over the years, several bodies have been found which matched the appearance of Xavier but none were him. The more terrifying incident happened in 2015 when a journalist in Nantes got a post containing the photos of two of Xavier’s son and on the back of it written ” I am still alive ”
