The character of Dipesh Kumar is inspired by the real-life character of CPI leader and AISA president Chandrashekar Prasad, it is said that he was a close friend of Mohammad Shahabuddin, He came from JNU to contest the election from Siwan during the 1997 Bihar elections. He was shot dead by the Gunman while addressing the street corner meeting in Siwan. Mohammad Shahabuddin was the main accused behind the Killings as said by Chandrashekhar’s Mother.

Chandrashekhar Prasad was born on 20 September 1964 in Bihar, He was raised by his Mother, He was a great student and he completed his education at Patna University and later he shifted to JNU for higher education.
